In the last 10 years the use of height adjustable desks in the office has drastically increased in Europe. Indeed, research shows that over 90% of desks sold in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway are height adjustable. The use of height adjustable desks is much lower in the UK. However, this may be about to change. Currently, the European Directive on Health and Safety at work is being updated and it is believed by many that the updated directive will recommend that all office based work stations have full height adjustment (either electronic or manual).
